FR30 steel

Innovative material: ThyssenKrupp's FR 30 steel reduces costs, shortens construction times and sets new esthetic standards.

FR 30 is a fire-resistant steel grade developed by ThyssenKrupp. Unlike conventional structural steels, FR 30 does not lose its structural integrity so quickly at high temperatures and thus displays longer resistance to fire. It can be used without fire protection cladding or coatings, which significantly reduces cost and shortens construction times. Repeated fire protection inspections and repairs can also be dispensed with. The steel also sets new esthetic standards: in the form of sections, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities to industrial building planners and architects, who can use the slender, unclad steel sections to create new, attractive designs. But that’s not all: ThyssenKrupp Steel in Duisburg is working on developing even slimmer sections which nonetheless offer the required structural integrity.
