Technology Days

The Technology Days in Shanghai in fall 2007

In parallel with the wide-ranging measures of the “Discovering future technology” initiative, ThyssenKrupp also stages attractive technology events internationally to get not only experts, but also the general public, enthusiastic about our innovations. Following the successful event at Waseda University, Tokyo in 2005, the Technology Days 2007 were held at the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum in the Pudong district.

The exhibition was based on the "mega-trends" which will present people with major challenges in the near future. These universal action areas will primarily affect industrialized and highly populous countries such as China which, with approx. 1.3 billion people, has the largest population on earth.

Climate change

Climate change: bringing the melting of the glaciers and the polar ice caps to life.

Three global mega-trends – shortage of resources, the great need for mobility and climate change, together with technological solutions from ThyssenKrupp and its partners were presented across an area of approx. 2,500 m² and supported by fun interactive edutainment features.
The objective was to raise awareness among visitors of the challenges of the future and present ThyssenKrupp as a competent partner for Chinese development.

More than 80,000 visitors accepted the invitation to the Technology Days and were fascinated by what the people "behind the technology" had to say.
