Asia-Pacific
The Asia-Pacific region is becoming more and more important for ThyssenKrupp. The Group generated sales there of about €3.2 billion in fiscal year 2006/07 (previous year: €3.0 billion). That represents 6% of ThyssenKrupp's total sales or 10% of ThyssenKrupp's foreign sales.
China and South Korea are currently our most important markets. The Group generates sales of €1.6 billion in these countries. This corresponds to 50% of all sales in the Asia-Pacific region.
In terms of local presence, China and India are our most important bases in the region. In these two countries alone, ThyssenKrupp currently has more than 10,700 employees representing 80% of our workforce in Asia-Pacific.
