North America (NAFTA)

ThyssenKrupp generated sales of over €8.9 billion in North America in fiscal year 2006/2007, representing 17% of the Group's total sales. This makes the region the Group's biggest sales market after Germany (36%) and other EU countries (31%). The strongest segments are Technologies, Services and Elevator.

All ThyssenKrupp segments have subsidiaries in North America. The Group has 30,000 employees in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Of these, 38% work for the subsidiaries of the Elevator segment and 28% work for the North American subsidiaries of the Technologies segment.
